Who is Akin?
Akin Bagcilar is a two-time world champion in the international CMAS underwater photography and videography competitions, and one of the most respected visual storytellers in today’s marine imaging world.
Graduated from a university Cinema Department, Akin built his early career in the film industry as an editing operator, screenwriter, and post-production specialist. Many of the films he produced or edited have earned prestigious awards in international circuits.
With a deep passion for the mysterious underwater world, he later transitioned into underwater cinematography, contributing to documentaries, marine storytelling projects, and cinematic productions that reveal the hidden beauty and fragility of the ocean.
Today, together with his wife Elif, he runs a production company in Dubai, continuing to create films and documentaries that reach global audiences.

rotational resistance, and ergonomic movements, ensuring every adjustment
feels natural and precise during demanding underwater shoots.
Akin’s insights are now part of the TIGERSHARK standard that continues to evolve.
